We are back!!!!
We left Dallas on Tuesday night at 11pm and had a very bumpy ride back. One guy had to be restrained as he was freaking out over the turbulence and another girls sat crying for ages - not a great flight home but thankfully Will and Tom slept 7 hours straight through and missed it all!
Yesterday was spent washing and doing more washing and also putting the office and William's bedrooms back together after they had been painted whilst we were away.
This morning we were up in London at 9am to go to the American Embassy for our visa interview. 2.5 hours later we have both been approved so will now be waiting for the official documentation to come though.
Once we have it it is likely that Steve will head off to Dallas before me. He's looking to be there for around the 11th as he needs to start his new job. I am still not sure when I will go although we have been aiming for the end of October. However, I will stay here until the house is rented out so fingers crossed that all happens quickly.
On Monday this week we met our Realtor (Jacqui) and looked at four houses in the Southlake/Colleyville areas of Dallas.
The first was a four bedroom house on a 5 acre lot with stables included. Rudy would love it but was a little remote for me. Steve will be travelling quite a bit over there and it would be nice to have proper neighbours!
The next two house looked OK on paper but just didn't seem like home to us. The last place was seriously impressive with over 4000 square feet of house, swimming pool and custom built media/games room.
Problem is I don't want to live in a house with 4000 sq feet. Yes, I want bigger than I have now but not massively! Jacqui seems to struggle with this idea but has promised to keep looking for something more manageable!
On Monday night we went to see the Texas Rangers play baseball - a truly American experience that the boys just loved! They especially liked all the walk around vendors who were shouting out their wares!
Here are some photos of the game...
During our last couple of days we got chance to kick back and relax around the pool. The temperature got down to 25 degrees C - very cold for our Dallas chums but no problems for the boys!
So, that was our first Dallas experience. I haven't fallen in love with it but it's going to be a great experience for 2 years. The area we have selected is lovely and the people are really friendly.
That's it for now folks but thanks for following our tale so far. I will keep updating over the next few weeks as things progress.
Love to you all, Bxxxx
